Optical Components for Optical Pickups
We have developed our range of optical pickups for optical disc recorders and players, most notably CDs and DVDs. By combining the precise optical design technologies regarding refraction and diffraction, optical engineering plastics molding technology and ultra-precision metal mold technology, we have supplied the market with a wide range of optical pick-ups.
Now, our products are widely used and highly appreciated all over the world.
Instead of conventional method for making diffraction gratings, which entails evaporation onto glass plates and a cutting-out process, Enplas was the first in the industry to succeed in producing them by plastic injection molding. This method enables accurate transfer of microscopic hologram patterns having a pitch of several μm and depth of 0.5 μm. We are currently producing these devices at a rate of several million pieces per month.
Enplas is currently mass-producing diffraction optical devices on a consistent basis. The steps include diffraction pattern design, mold manufacturing, ultra-precision molding processing, coating, and packaging design for ease of handling. The diffraction grating shown here accurately transfers a difference in surfaces of several hundred nm, and has a difference tolerance of ±0.005 μm.

We provide a range of high-performance micro-optics such as ultra-precision aspherical lens and free form mirror for every area of optical communications.
In the area of high-precision multiple optical devices, we support customers from initial product design and optical design stage through prototyping, valuation with high-precision measuring equipment to mass production stage. We use the latest production facilities and provide a coherent services with our integrated system.
Thus, we also contribute to components integration and cost-cutting of our customer.
Enplas supports from development phase to mass production. Standard lens-integrated port and standard lens array are available.
